IPFSAPH portal user survey summary
Conclusion
Overall, the survey response indicates a positive interest in the portal. While
this can be expected to some degree from users that take the time to fill in a
survey, 500 responses to the survey in 2 months is a good response rate in
comparison to other surveys of FAO information systems*.
The high response rate to the Spanish version
of the survey is also a positive sign of the interest in portal in Spanish.
The survey also indicates a wide range of users from both government agencies
and private sector, with about half of respondents working as Food
technologist/Food safety specialists, Veterinarian/Livestock production
specialists and Researchers or scientists. It appears that the majority of
respondents to the survey can be considered “regular users” of the portal
(two-thirds reported using the site daily, weekly or monthly, similar to
reporting in a large FAO web site survey).
The survey also provided valuable feedback in identifying areas of improvement
in both functionality and content.
